Among the early pioneers of "Action Sports", Rod Parmenter (Producer, Founder of Kids Who Rip) started doing heart stopping ski stunts for magazine covers and print media at the age of 16. Movies soon followed, with Rod featured in Warren Miller's ski adventure, "Steep & Deep."

Inspired by Miller's style of shooting nail-biting sports action,Rod stepped behind the camera in 1987 forming Gorge Video Productions, directing and producing an impressive library of sports entertainment projects.

The Story Behind Kids Who Rip

Kids who Rip got its start 9 years ago, when Rod filmed pro surfer TJ Barron when he was just 10 years old. Rod was so inspired by TJ that he decided to develop a show featuring the young stars of action sports. Rod also filmed other future pros Shaun White and Shane Bonifay.  But it wasn't until the recent rise in the popularity of action sports that it became possible for this show to come to life.  Traveling the country and receiving hours of submitted footage, the Kids Who Rip team have put together an hour long video featuring cool action and fun kids.  The video marks the launch of what plans to be a large catalogue of family friendly titles aimed at getting kids active.
